Dr. M. Reza Azarpazhooh

Dr. M. Reza Azarpazhooh holds the position of associate professor of Neurology at Western University in London, Canada. In addition to his primary Neurology training, Dr. Azarpazhooh pursued specialized fellowships, including a Stroke fellowship and Ultrasound fellowship at Melbourne University in Australia from 2003 to 2004, as well as a fellowship concentrating on stroke and dementia prevention at Western University, Canada from 2015 to 2018.

Dr. Reza brings over two decades of experience to his practice, he is a seasoned neurologist who dedicates himself to assisting patients dealing with a wide range of neurological conditions. He takes the lead or has founded multiple clinics, encompassing the carotid artery Ultrasound lab, Neuro-ICU, Stroke Unit, Vertigo Clinic, and Electromyography (EMG) Lab.

Dr. Reza is highly engaged in academia, having mentored numerous fellows, residents, medical students, PhD candidates, and master’s students. Additionally, he holds positions as an associate professor in epidemiology and neuroscience, as well as a scientist at the Robarts Research Institute.

In his recent research and practice endeavors, Dr. Reza has shifted his focus towards the social determinants of health, notably including aspects such as air pollution, access to green spaces, walking environments, and crime rates in London, Ontario. Moreover, in his daily clinical practice, he emphasizes preventive measures for diseases rather than solely focusing on treatment.
